TLC strives to attract, develop, motivate and retain the most competent employees possible to aid in providing quality services to deaf children, adolescents, young adults, and the Deaf Community at large.     
                       
The goals of the Human Resources Department are:

• to hire and retain expert personnel
• to ensure fair and impartial treatment of personnel by promoting open communication between supervisors and employees
• to encourage the well-being, efficiency, and advancement of all employed personnel through continued training
• to help employees understand the school's mission and to encourage them to improve their skills in the performance of their job responsibilities
• to assist employees in better understanding, not only their benefits and privileges, but also their responsibilities and obligations as employees of TLC

The Learning Center for the Deaf seeks to employ personnel who meet high standards of educational and occupational qualifications, who can advance within the organization whenever possible, who have the capacity for growth, and who will benefit the organization. Employees should exhibit the desire and the capacity to learn, grow, and improve their own performance to meet those needs of the students and familiesthey serve. TLC thrives on the cooperative spirit of its staff and their ability to work as a team to provide the best educational environment possible for all students.

To this end The Learning Center offers in-service trainings throughout the year based on requests for topic areas by the staff. In addition, attendance at special training events, conferences, or school may be authorized by the Executive Director.
