Requirements for Employment

Certification/License - Employees whose positions require certification and/or licensure must present copies of these credentials to the school before employment. If the certification and/or license requires periodic renewals. Employees are required to present proof of the continued validity of the certification/licensure at the time of the periodic renewal. Failure to maintain a valid certificate/license may subject the Employee to termination, suspension, or reassignment.

Resume/Application - Employment Checks will consist of verification of Resume, and/or application information. Verification of degree and certifications by contacting the college, university and or facility where degree was obtained. In addition, an employee will be asked for three references, one of which must be the employees most recent supervisor. References may be written or verbal, but all written references will also be verified by phone contact.

Proof of eligibility to work in the United States will also be required according to the I-9 federal form.

CORI (Criminal Offender Records Information) must be completed and results received prior to an employees date of hire. A relevant CORI may result in termination of employment.

Exposure Classification Form - All new employees will be classified according to work task exposure to certain body fluids as required by the current OSHA infections control standard. Staff that are notified they are in Category One (high risk) will be offered, free of charge , the Hepatitis B vaccine.

Massachusetts Driver's License - All employees responsible for transportation of children in the program vehicles must submit and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver's license and a driving record acceptable to our insurer. You will be asked to submit a copy of your driver's license and driving record.

Note regarding status of recent hire - All new staff and re-hires are on a probationary status for their first 3 months (90) days. During this period the employee and the supervisor will determine if the employee can fulfill the responsibilities and obligations for the position. If either the employee or the supervisor are not satisfied with the employment arrangement, employment may be terminated.
