The Learning Center for the Deaf is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. All employees and applicants for employment are afforded equal opportunity in every area of hiring and employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, disability, handicap or veteran's status.
We carefully select our employees through written application, resume, personal interview and reference checks. Each application will be carefully reviewed, and those candidates who are most qualified will be invited for an interview.
At this time it is recommended that you:
* Review information related to The Learning Center's educational and communication philosophy
* Review job listings, determine which position you may be interested in and then review departmental information
* Review our benefit information
* If after careful review of our Web Site, you decide you would like to become a member of our school, then please do the following:
1. Send in an updated Resume,* with cover letter explaining which position you are applying for, when you would be available for an interview, and why you would make a good candidate
2. Whenever possible send along copies of your certifications or licenses if relevant to the position you are applying for.
3. Written references or list of at least three references, with names, addresses, and telephone numbers should be submitted with your Resume/Application
4. Once your resume is received, you will be notified of your status by postcard within two weeks
5. If we determine you are an appropriate candidate, you will be contacted by the Personnel Department and further information regarding the position will be reviewed, and any questions you have at that time may be answered.
6. At that time, if an interview is scheduled, you will be given a time, date, and directions to our location. A majority of our interviews are run as a team with at least one Deaf staff member. All interviews, whenever possible are conducted using American Sign Language (ASL)
7. Once an interview is complete, a decision will be made in a timely manner regarding your employment with us and you will receive written notification and or an invitation to join our school.
* If you do not have an updated Resume, you may contact Lynn Marshall, Administrative Assistant , at TLC to request an application. The application should be returned with a cover letter and references.
