  • November 4: TLC Lady Ghosts volleyball team participated in ESDAA Tournament. The results:
    Game 1 against Lexington - won 2-0
    1st set - 26-24; 2nd set - 25-18
    Game 2 against WPSD - tied 1-1
    1st set - lost 25-22
    2nd set - won 25-20
    Game 3 against NYSD Fanwood - tied 1-1
    1st set- lost 25-21
    2nd set- won 25-20
    Game 4 against Maryland. The fatigue of the Lady Ghosts were shown as they were getting tired from playing a lot of games and lost to Maryland - 0-2

    2nd set - 25 - 12

  • November 4: MBIL Play-Off: TLC @ CCA
    The Galloping Ghosts traveled to CCA for MBIL Play-Off contest yesterday. Both teams battled through scoreless tie until the last 15 mins in the second half when CCA scored. Then they scored four more goals resulting in CCA winning, 5-0.

    The Galloping Ghosts did an amazing job defending our goal. They attempted 42 shots at goals. Chance Morgan played beauitfully as he was diving and flying everywhere to keep the ball out. Unfortunately, we started to panic after their first goal and lost focus on game plan. However, we had a great season! 

    We ended the season on a winning note, 11 wins and 7 losses and will miss our superb seniors - Darren Carrus, Renee Legere, Daniel Letendre, Shane Stevenson, and Andrew Velez.

  • October 28: The Learning Center for the Deaf Varsity volleyball game against New York School for the Deaf - Fanwood
    This evening was Lady Ghosts' last game of the season. We walked away with a really good feeling and a win.
    1st set- Lady Ghosts won the game 25-14
    2nd set- Lady Ghosts continued to play well and won 25-17
    3rd set- Two Lady Ghosts seniors got emotional from playing their last regular home game of their school career and team lost 25-27
    4th set- Lady Ghosts decided to fight back and gave two seniors a big W 25-22
    record 9-4
    We will travel to Maryland to play ESDAA tournament on November 4th and 5th.

  • October 26: TLC Galloping Ghosts VS. Convent Christian Academy (CCA). The Galloping Ghosts played against the undefeated team on the hearing league. The team played very well in the first half. Daniel Letendre had worked hard in his defense position and did great job having his teammates by making the other team get offsides. We held a strong defense against them but they also had a strong defense against us as well. Matthew had made several attempts to score a goal. He has had opportunity to score but their goalie blocked the ball very well. Orlando had made 22 saves out of 27 shots. He has improved since the last time we played against CCA.

  • October 25: The Learning Center for the Deaf Varsity Volleyball traveled to MacDuffie School. This evening was Lady Ghosts's last regular away game of the season. The game was the best game we have played this season, ever. Lady Ghosts played their heart out, saved ball as many as we can. We came up very short but it was a very good lost.
    Record is 7-4
    1st set- we played very well and won 25-23
    2nd set- Lady Ghosts and MacDuffie score very even all the way until the end and lost 23-25
    3rd set- Lady Ghost came back and beat MacDuffie 25-23
    4th set- MacDuffie served many points, threw Lady Ghosts off the track and lost, 20-25
    5th set- Lady Ghosts serve the first and was led all until 8-3. . .MacDuffie decided to take over and beat us 10-15
    Jackie Blanchard served 24 points with 12 aces.
    Elissa Letendre had 3 aces, and 10 digs
    Ashley Kingston had 3 kills, 4 blocks, and 17 assists
    The last regular home game is this Friday October 27th against Fanwood School for the Deaf.

  • Monday, October 24: TLC JV Soccer game against Carroll has been cancelled. Team will have practice at 4 pm with Varsity Soccer team instead. Pick up time is 6 pm.

  • TLC Galloping Ghosts traveled to Rome, New York for Friendship Cup where five other schools had participated. Galloping Ghosts' first game was against Sir. James Whitney and our defense continued their superb job defending as we won with the score, 5-0.
    In the championship game, the Galloping Ghosts played against familiar foe, RISD. The field were super muddy but Galloping Ghosts managed to play awesome with only 9 players on the field!! Wesley and MA had made several attempts to score a goal.

    The Galloping Ghosts has continued to keep their winning streak - nine games in a row!

  • October 19, 2011 The Learning Center for the Deaf Varsity Volleyball
    The Lady Ghosts traveled to American School for Deaf today.
    First set - we recovered from mental errors last week and have all starters back on the team. We won 25-23.
    Second set - we played a lot better by scoring a lot of aces and total 11 kills. We won 25-18.
    Third set - we won the game 25-18.
    Marissa McBride served 23 points within 14 aces and 4 kills and 3 assists.
    Elissa Letendre served 11 points and 3 kills/3 assists.
    Ashley Kingston had 7 assists and 2 blocks.
    Record is 6-3.
    Next match is this Friday, October 21st at TLC against Chapel Hill Chauncey Hall (CH-CH), a team we lost to two weeks ago. We aim to get better this time!

  • TLC Galliping Ghosts traveled to RISD for the New England Schools for the Deaf (NESD) Soccer Tournamnet and brought home the Championship! Galloping Ghosts played against Austine (with ASD combined) on Friday and RISD on Saturday for Championship game.

    Galloping Ghosts had an amazing win against our heated team. The game was so hot that the Galloping Ghosts worked hard as a team and successfully scored 3 goals against them. Chance Morgan had succesfully saved all shots for goals. The defensive players, Shane Stevenson, Darren Carrus, Josiah Champman, and Dwyane Ellis, did an amazing job! Daniel Letendre scored the first goal and was assisted by Matthew Velez. Second goal was scored by Andrew Velez from direct kick. Finally the third goal one TLC player scored and was assited by Matthew Velez.

    The Galloping Ghosts played against Austine which had 5 players from ASD in order to have Austine participated in the tourney. We won, 12-0. Two boys had hat tricks and they were Daniel Letendre and Dylan Christoffels! Gus Yalartai scored 4 goals. Matthew Velez scored one goal. The final goal was scored by Wesley Silva and it was his first goal for the Varsity team!

  • October 14, 2011: The Learning Center for the Deaf traveled to Newton, Mass today to play against Newton Country Day School of Scared Heart.
    NCD team is a talented team which the players' height are their biggest advantage.
    First set- we started open with many errors and were unfocused. In result. we lost 25-10.
    Second set- NCD spiked a lot and served very well, resulting in a good defeat over us, 25-7.
    Third set- Lady Ghosts started to get together as a team and focused better. However, we came up short 25-16.
    Elissa Letendre has 2 kills, 22 assists, and 5 digs.
    Samantha Perry has 6 assists and 4 digs

  • Wednesday, October 12: The Galloping Ghosts traveled to Waldorf. The result ended with the Galloping Ghosts winning 5th straight games!! We had tremendous shots on goal and had so many opportunity to score more goals. Waldorf's goalie had made so many saves against us. Daniel was able to score after Andrew rebounded the ball away from their goalie. Andrew socred one as well by tapping the ball in the goal. Daniel made a beauitful pass from the outside of the goal box to the center and Gus jumped in and made a beautiful and powerful head shot in goal!

  • Tuesday, October 11: TLC had home game against GBSD, from Maine and we beat them 13-2. We have had beautiful passes to the goal box area by our midfielders. Andrew Velez - 9 shots on goal, 5 goals, and 3 assists

  • October 7, 2011: The Learning Center for the Deaf @ Chapel Hill - Chanucy Hall School (CH-CH)

    Three keys players were absent and we had 7 players with us this afternoon.
    First set - The Lady Ghosts played awkward without three players but we won, 25-21.
    Second set - We lost 14-25 due to many errors on out parts.
    Third set - CH-CH led game until in the end we roared back and won 26-24.
    Fourth set - We struggled and couldnt focus into the game, resulting in many mental errors and lost 16-25.
    5th and last set - we finally started to play as a team but came up short and lost 12-15.
    Player of the game tonight was Jessica Lambert.  She has improved so much since the beginning of season. Jessica served 12 points with 7 aces and 3 kills.
    Elissa Letendre had 19 digs while
    Jackie Blanchard served 13 points.

  • Friday, October 7: TLC Soccer @ Boston Trinity Academy HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO FLOODED CONDITION AT BTA SOCCER FIELD.

  • Thursday, October 6: The first game of 2011, Lady Ghosts played against Gann and lost to them. Lady Ghosts still remembered their first game against Gann and our spirits and passions were on fire of this game.
    First set- we played well and won 25-22
    Second set, Gann came back and started to play a hot game against us. However, we barely escaped with 25-23.
    Third set, Lady Ghosts came back alive and started to play very well and walked away with a big WIN 25-19
    Record 5-1
    Marissa McBride had 10 points of serves with 9 aces.
    Jackie Blanchard served 19 points with 6 aces.

  • September 26, 2011: TLC Lady Ghosts Volleyball Contest against Rhode Island School for the Deaf has been cancelled. RISD does not have enough players for volleyball and will use those players for soccer game against TLC.

  • September 22, 2011: TLC Galloping Ghost had their first home game against Boston
    University Academy (BUA). We had a strong battle against them but unfortunately we lost 5-3.
    The team had shown tremendous improvement and we had a lot of shots on goal. Most of our shots were blocked by their goal keeper. Elvis Calcano, sophmore, scored two beautiful goals, one was assisted by Co-Captain Daniel Letendre. Letendre had also assisted R. C. who scored the third goal. Ro came flying through their defense and made a beautiful shot after the goalkeeper punched the ball out.

    The next game - against Commonwealth.

  • September 21, 2011: TLC Lady Ghosts Varsity Volleyball team travelled to Wellesley, Mass to play against Dana Hall JV team.
    First set we played very well and won 25-13.
    In second set - Dana Hall JV rallied to get back into the game but the Lady Ghosts didn't give up and started come together as a volleyball team. In result, we escaped narrowly with a big W 25-21.

    Next game is on Friday, September 23 against Buckingham Browne and Nichols JV team

    TLC traveled to their second away game. The Galloping Ghosts had a heated game against Commonwealth but unfortuntely we lost 0-3. Despite the rocky hard field of Commonwealth, our team tried their best to keep in control of the game. They also had several tough struggles by the goal where one of the Commonwealth players did the flip throw towards the goal box. Orlando Taccognia and the defenders had made amazing saves or getting the ball out of way by heading it out.
    Orlando T. made 21 out of 24 saves.
    Daniel Letendre had four shots on goal.
    Chance Morgan and Gus Yalartai had one shot on goal.
    The next game is this upcoming Saturday, September 24th against PSD.

  • September 20, 2011: The Learning Center for the Deaf Lady Ghosts Varsity Volleyball team face Gann at Gann Academy in Walthman, Mass for the first game of 2011.
    Lady Ghosts team is a young one that we have only two seniors and are missing a few due to injuries.
    We started off strong, winning the first set, 25-15
    2nd set, we started to struggle to stay in the game and lost 19-25
    3rd set, young players had several mental errors as they were adjusting to playing. We lost the 3rd set, 19-25
    4th set, Lady Ghosts started to fire up and catch up but it was too late. We lost the game 22-25
    Senior Elissa Letendre had 7 attacks and 3 kills with 7 points serves
    Senior Samantha Perry made 5 digs and 2 solo blocks
    Sophomore Marissa McBride had 12 points serves record: 0-1
    Tomorrow, September 21st, We will travel to Wellesley, Mass to play against Dana Hall JV team at 4:00 pm

  • Saturday, 9/17: Soccer and volleyball games against Pennsylvania School for the Deaf at TLC has been cancelled.

  • Thurs., 9/15: Soccer game on Thursday against Governor Baxter School for the Deaf has been cancelled.

  • Thurs., 9/8: Soccer game today @ BTA has been postponed due to the weather. The rescheduled game has been set for Friday, October 7 at 430 pm. Instead, the team will have soccer practice today.

  • Saturday, October 1st: Annual Homecoming, outside of TLC Warren Schwab Athletic Center (gym) starting at 10:30am until 4:30pm. BBQ, Booths, family activities and of course, sport games (soccer and volleyball). Alumni gathering afterward. For more information, please go to our calendar section.
