Community based programming for children with Mass Health or for families working with the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Family Networks program.
The Walden Wraparound Program provides any family with a Deaf member, support under two programs. The first is a Family Support and Stabilization program for families working with DCF/Family Networks. The second is under the Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (formerly the Rosie D. legislation), a program run by Mass Health.
Both programs operate within the model of Wraparound service delivery, subscribing to its values and philosophy. We are the only provider in the state able of offer linguistically accessible, culturally authentic and comprehensive services to families who have concerns about the behavioral and emotional health of a child. Our CBHI program is one of three out of 32 Community Service Agencies (CSA’s) offering specialized services to a cultural/linguistic minority group—the Deaf community. (The other two agencies offer services for Black families and for Latino Families, while the remaining CSA’s offer services specific to their region.)
