Louise Applegate, a sophomore at The Learning Center for the Deaf, was interviewed by the Disability Law Center to discuss her experience in an integrated classroom. Louise takes classes at TLC which are taught in ASL and also (through TLC's mainstreaming opportunities) takes classes at Framingham High School through the assistance of ASL interpreters. With her unique experience, Louise is able to offer valuable insights on how teachers, administrators, counselors, and other students can improve access for deaf students and allow them to participate effectively in classroom activities and discussions.
