The Learning Center for the Deaf has recently launched a capital campaign to enhance our ability to serve deaf and hard of hearing children.  For nearly 40 years, the Learning Center has been nationally recognized for our academic excellence and innovative practices.  Our capacity to respond to advances in research and technology has resulted in significant growth of our student population, particularly among very young children.

We are building a new facility on the site of what we call The Barn. The new building will bring our Parent Infant Program and our Early Childhood Program under one new roof and provide much-needed space for therapy rooms.

In addition, the new building will house a state-of-the art Library and Media Center. Our current Library is overflowing with students and over-stuffed shelves. The new Library will have more web-based materials and more places for our basic collections, private study areas, group work and after-school computer stations, especially important for our residential students.

With your support, The Learning Center for the Deaf will redesign and renovate the spaces we have outgrown and build new ones to accommodate our community’s expanding needs. With your help, TLC will continue to grow and thrive and get bigger and better.
