Posted 06/07/2018 08:22PM

The Learning Center for the Deaf is excited to announce that MICHAEL KAUFER will serve as the featured graduation speaker at our graduation ceremony on Friday, June 8, 2018!

Michael Kaufer has been a lifelong educator and advocate for deaf and hard of hearing children’s education, both in and out of school. For more than 25 years, he taught at various schools for the deaf, including P.S. 347 and P.S. 47 in New York City, and Beverly School for the Deaf in Massachusetts. He is now director of Deaf Film Camp, and has supported Camp Mark 7 through philanthropic leadership, raising more than $250,000 for the organization since 2010. Michael is also a certified Apple Specialist where he provides workshops and training on Apple products and software for deaf customers, and supports ongoing accessibility strategies for Apple employees and customers. Michael believes every deaf and hard-of-hearing child who aspires to be in media and technology - or any other career - absolutely can achieve their dreams!
