Mental Health Services Conference

Recognizing the growing need for mental health care and services for Deaf people on the local, national, and international levels, The Learning Center for the Deaf (TLC) and Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital will host an inaugural conference which will allow a multidisciplinary community of experts and people who work in this field to come together to learn and address both shared successes as well as shared challenges.

We will encourage and welcome proposals that will advance and develop knowledge and understanding of the issues and challenges currently facing the field of mental health services and the Deaf. 



Target Audience:
Medical providers, Mental Health Counselors, Psychologists, Social Workers, Interpreters and providers of day, vocational, rehabilitative, residential or inpatient services to Deaf, DeafBlind and HOH individuals.

Qualified ASL/English Interpreters will be available at all presentations. If you require Platform Deaf Interpreters, Close Vision, Tactile and/or PT interpreting services or CART please email your request to MHConference@tlcdeaf.org by September 2nd

Continuing Education Information: 
In order to receive continuing education credit or contact hours for an event, participants MUST sign in, MUST remain the entire program, and MUST submit an evaluation and post-exam upon the conclusion of the program.

ASL Interpreters/Certified Deaf Interpreters: This conference has been approved by MassRID. MassRID is an approved RID CMP sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional Studies program is offered at 0.75 CEUs/ACETs (0.15 CEUs per workshop) at the Little/None Content Level.

Licensed Marriage Family Therapist: This activity has been certified by NEAFAST on behalf of the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health & Human Services Professions, for LMFT professional continuing education for 7.5 contact hours. 

Licensed Mental Health Counselors: Pending approval from NBCC

Psychologists: Pending approval from APA

School Psychologist: Pending approval NASP

Social Work: Pending approval NASW

Instructors are asked to include this information on their application. It is the policy of TLC to ensure balance, independence, and objectivity in all educational programs which are approved for CE credits. Presenters are required to disclose at the time of their presentation any conflict of interest. Presenters, speakers or authors are not permitted to sell or market products developed by the individual or from their companies, as part of their presentation.

Refund Policy:
If you withdraw or cancel your registration on or before 15 business days prior to the event, you will receive a full refund minus a 20% administration fee. Please contact MHConference@tlcdeaf.org to submit your cancellation. 100% refund may be requested by participant if training is canceled by The Learning Center for the Deaf. 100% of a course registration fee is forfeited if the participant fails to attend the confirmed training.
