Class of 2026 Announces Renca Dunn as Graduation Keynote

The Learning Center for the Deaf has announced prominent Deaf content creator, performer, advocate, and educator Renca Dunn, PhD, will be the 2026 Graduation Keynote.

Born in Hawaii and now based in Nebraska, Renca has lived in more than 30 places, including time spent on a commercial fishing boat. A proud graduate of Washington School for the Deaf, she went on to earn three bachelor’s degrees from Gallaudet University, a master’s degree from American University, and a PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. 

Renca proudly celebrates her identity as a Hispanic Deaf woman everywhere she goes. She is a co-cheer coach at the Iowa School for the Deaf, where her team was honored as National Champions in 2025. She is also a news reporter for The Daily Moth and the content creator behind the platform: ReallyRenca. 

Currently, Renca is the Marketing Manager for Communication Service for the Deaf’s CSD Access division. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and sipping lattes.

TLC’s Graduation will take place Friday, June 5th.
