Interpreting Services

Our interpreters practice in a variety of settings, including educational, medical and therapeutic. Our Deaf interpreters have extensive training in utilizing their native knowledge of ASL for assessment and specialized situations. These assignments require nuanced translations that contain cultural, visual, tactile and linguistic elements. We also provide information regarding the Deaf Community, how to work with interpreters, and how to make communication more accessible.

We firmly believe in fostering the growth and professional development of our interpreters.  Through workshops, specialized training and mentorships with veteran interpreters, they will continue to expand their skills and build expertise.

*Please Note* Our Testing Center is currently closed.  Please check back here or our dedicated page for updated information on reopening.

I have been fortunate to use the interpreters from TLC for many years now in my medical practice. They are expert, highly-trained, professional interpreters who consistently arrive on time and provide access to communication with Deaf families in my practice. At times I forget they are in the room as I interact with my patients. The interpreting service is so easy and straightforward for my staff to book and provides so much value with their exceptional work that I could never go back to the time before I had their services. What a blessing this service has been to my entire practice!

Frequently Asked Questions

As a Deaf professional, I have been extremely fortunate to work with a talented team of interpreters. This has allowed me to present at conferences feeling equal to other hearing presenters without any worries about language access, interact with other professionals and is able to focus on the task at hand instead of trying to overcome communication barriers. I am able to just BE a care clinician rather than be a Deaf clinician focusing on access. The team goes out of their way to collaborate with me before jobs to ensure professionalism and that we all feel prepared.
