The TLC Advancement Team builds connections between The Learning Center for the Deaf and the people, families, organizations, and communities we serve.
Our team brings together expertise in communications, marketing, philanthropy, community engagement, events, and alumni relations to share TLC’s story, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful opportunities to connect with our schools, programs, and campus.

Advancement Staff
Emily Roberts is the Fundraising Manager for The Learning Center for the Deaf. She is passionate about building community and supporting mission-driven organizations.
Prior to joining TLC, Emily built her career in animal welfare, working across a wide range of settings including zoos, rescue organizations, veterinary practices, and even live stage productions featuring performing animals. Throughout her career, she has worked with many species, including wolves, lemurs, and ostriches. Most recently, she served as Clinic Manager at Bond Vet in New York City and Executive Director of the Cortland County SPCA in upstate New York.
Emily was born and raised in Texas and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Supply Chain and Marketing from Arizona State University.
Blaine has more than 20 years of experience working in marketing, public relations, and corporate communications.
Prior to joining TLC, she worked in the nonprofit healthcare industry for over a decade.
Blaine received her Bachelor's in Communications from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. After a brief stint in journalism, she transitioned to marketing and has never looked back! Blaine is inspired by the staff, families, and community within The Learning Center for the Deaf every day.
