TLC Welcomes Rodney Burford, Jr. as Class of 2023 Commencement Keynote

The Learning Center for the Deaf (TLC) has announced its 2023 Graduation Keynote is Rodney Burford, Jr., of Brooklyn, NY.

Rodney is a Deaf actor, best known for his portrayal of Tony Hughes in the Netflix drama Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which premiered in September 2022.

In 2020, Burford made his screen debut in the reality television show Deaf U. He has appeared in interviews including #DeafWoke and Melmira.

Rodney attended Maryland School for the Deaf, before studying at Gallaudet University, where he played football for the Bison, earning a conference championship, named Team Captain and earning 1st Team All Conference. Rodney, Class of 2023, has a Bachelor’s in Psychology. 

TLC’s graduation ceremony will be held Friday, June 9th. It will be available to stream live on TLC’s YouTube page. The Class of 2023 will be featured on TLC’s Facebook and Instagram pages over the next two weeks.
