The Learning Center for the Deaf Partners with Innivee Strategies, Inc. to Lead Superintendent Search

The Learning Center for the Deaf (TLC), a pioneer in Deaf education American Sign Language/English bilingual instruction, announces its partnered with Innivee Strategies, Inc., a Deaf-owned and led firm that provides executive search services, to support the search for the next Superintendent of Marie Philip School (MPS).

TLC’s Pre-K-12+ day school, MPS enrolls nearly 200 deaf and hard of hearing students on its Framingham campus.  

Home to two world-class schools serving deaf and hard of hearing students, TLC is an internationally-recognized, multi-service agency and is the largest provider of services benefiting deaf and hard of hearing children and adults--and families--in New England. “The Learning Center has continuously broken ground over the past 50 years, making it a truly inspiring place to work,”said TLC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Sarah Glenn-Smith. “As I look to what lies ahead, I see a continued commitment to further enhance the quality of our education, mental health, advocacy, audiological, and interpreting services, while also working to become a more equitable organization throughout.”

The search process is being supported by a superintendent search committee consisting of TLC staff, parents, and students. The search committee members were selected to represent the full breadth of the TLC community, and will be guided by the Innivee Strategies team throughout the search and selection process. The members of the search committee are:

  • Karen Bishop, Chief Operating Officer
  • Kyle Amber Clark, Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer, and MPS Parent
  • Isidore Niyongabo, Chief People Officer
  • Chris Kaftan, Director of Student Services
  • Toni Ammirati, Director of Curriculum and Instruction
  • Elisa Valles, Director of Walden Community Services
  • Andrew Veith, Director of TLC Interpreting Services
  • Dr. Lydia Colon, Audiology Clinic Director
  • Dr. Glenda Savitz, TLC Board Member, and MPS Parent

The committee will also include student and parent representatives from the MPS and Walden School communities.
