Family School Partnership Initiative

TLC enthusiastically applied for and was chosen in October 2022 to participate in an opportunity to receive training, coaching and strategic planning support to strengthen our family and school partnership. We recognize the need to strengthen our partnership with families so that we are supporting the development of the whole child, which includes academics, social emotional well being, and extracurricular activities.

We are eager to partner with this team, and the entire TLC Community, to work together to build an organization where there is not only trust and transparent communication, but joy in the ways in which we work, live and interact with one another.

FSPI On the Road!

The Family School Partnership Team is coming to a location near you! Join us for dinner and learn more about the TLC community and the importance of developing a strong partnership with your child's school community. Our first stop will be in Lawrence, Massachusetts; Families from all surrounding towns are welcome to attend!

Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan (2023-2025)

The Learning Center for the Deaf is dedicated to fostering a respectful school culture, free from harassment, bullying, cyber-bullying, and retaliation of any kind. Community members are expected to treat each other with respect, fully aware that acts of bullying, harassment, cyber-bullying, and retaliation are prohibited on school grounds, in school buildings, or in any school related activities.

The following Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan (BPIP) is a comprehensive approach to address and prevent issues of violence within our school. This Plan establishes a common approach to prevent, intervene, and respond to incidents of bullying, cyber-bullying, and retaliation should they occur.

In addition, the links below offer two different documents that can be used to formally report a bullying incident at MPS or WS. These forms are available for any student, parent/caregiver, or staff to fill out on behalf of a student.

2023-2024 Student Meals

the Massachusetts Legislature approved what is called a permanent legislative measure to put in the state budget statewide school lunches for all students. This means all students can get free breakfast and lunches, including here at TLC!

As in previous years, any families that wish to get benefits such as SNAP, WIC, must fill out an application based on income. If you want to apply for benefits, fill out the application and send it back.

Student Support Services

Our schools are designed to support our students with highly individualized support services, including Audiology. PT, OT and SLP. Here is a brief overview of the services your child receives at TLC.
